My name is Stephey Baker. I am the creative spirit behind Marked by the Muse™. For the past 10 years I’ve made a living full time, helping artists, musicians, spiritual healers and other creative souls to "get the stuck-out" of their artistic dreams and discover the true potential of their creative lives.

Let us get to the heart

If you’ve found your way here, perhaps even stumbled upon this space, it's because your destiny is to remember the gifts that lie inside you.

We all crave the Muse’s embrace — that feeling of being swept away with the creative process. You feel a deep connection to your art, a spiritual calling to live your full spirit, and yet, you find yourself stuck in a creative rut, unable to move forward.

"I believe we are all artists practicing the art of living. We are all creating our masterpiece called life. We forget that as artists we are creators. We create the experiences we want. We create our responses to the experiences we don’t want. We forget the hART of creating our lives."

I want to help those who've forgotten the hART of living with the idea of thriving. If you're craving a life of inspiration, creativity and spiritual fulfillment, I can help you "unblock" your dreams and move forward.

The dreams you carry with you are invitations to realize your true potential. “Dream” is another word for “beginning” — when you cross the threshold of your dreams, you take the first step to living your ideal life. I can guide you through this first step. I can support you in realizing your true potential, animating your innate gifts and creating your masterpiece called life.

This is a subtractive process rather than additive, by releasing what you are not, your true spirit organically emerges.

Why Marked by the Muse™?

This site is dedicated to helping other Artists (of all forms) learn the skills necessary to create a thriving artistic life, share their own experiences and celebrate overcoming adversity. It doesn’t cringe from discussing what can occur when living within the shadow of the starving artist archetype and offers self-excavating tools to emerge into the light of the Thriving Artist.

This site is resolved to nurture the creative warrior.

I started it in March of 2010 mainly because I wanted to make a difference in struggling Artists lives. For me, it was painful to live as a starving artist. Yet, be filled with such hope, desire and inspiration. I experienced it as an agonizing dichotomy.

That pain brought me to the edge of myself.

It wasn’t until I claimed my Artistic spirit and learned how to fulfill its needs, that I experienced liberation. I want others to feel the same freedom within, that’s why I created Marked by the Muse™. It’s my way to give back.

Marked by the Muse™ engages many creative topics such as creative living, releasing fear, creating a thriving inspirational life, how to invest creatively in your inspired life, and how not all who wander are lost.
